How to Save Your Heart

Once upon a time only old people, people who were obese or people who had some other kind of disease were suffering from heart problems. But, today it is become so common that everybody, irrespective of their age or weight face heart problems. You never know when it will affect you. And this is because of the life style we guys are leading today. By saying lifestyle, I mean the kind of work we do, the food habits we have and everything.
We have to go through this kind of hectic schedule, and stress to keep our lives going.

Often people are under the impression that if they take popping pills, it will do the job of controlling cholesterol and they can continue with their work. But, things are not that easy, popping pills alone cannot change blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

Now don't break your head wondering what to do, just pull up your socks and follow a strict quality control food for the next three months.

-The first thing is avoid all fried foods, nuts, coconut, bakery items, butter substitutes, ghee, creams of milk, chocolates, ice-creams, colas, alcohol, wine, meat and others.
-If you are a non vegetarian eat only fish and chicken. A strict no to meat.
-Do not eat non-vegetarian food in the night. Especially, avoid the gravies of non-vegetarian dishes and soups.
-Oil definitely gives a rich taste to your dishes, but this is one ingredient that can cause major damage to your heart. So use oil in very minimal quantity and just for seasoning.
-Make it a habit to have a big bowl of raw salad of tomatoes, cucumber, cabbage, lettuce, radish, capsicum and others as a part of your lunch and dinner.
-The diet you follow should have only food which is rich in fibre like salads, oats, wheat bread, ragi etc.

Along with the above strict quality food control, you must go for a 30 minutes walk everyday, whether rain or shine. And an intake of 3 litres of water daily is a must. These three months can be called a period of fibre intake. As fibre plays a very important in reducing the levels of blood cholesterol and triglyceride.

After the completion of the three month period of strict quality food, do not back to square one. And start having everything you feel like, then all your efforts will go down the drain. So, try and continue the intake of fibre and avoid fatty food. Don't think this is the end, and you cannot have your favorite dishes. Give yourself a treat once in a while.

Plan accordingly, like, if you have an ice-cream on Monday, then nod your head and say no to any other fatty food for the day. And on Thursday you can go for some other fatty food. Make sure you do not eat too many fatty foods o the same day. There must be a two to three days gap between treats so that your body can adjust and remove the fat that arises due to the treat.

So get smart and save your heart.
