Your Local County Park May Offer Classes, Activities and Maybe Even Summer Day Camps

Almost every county or nearby counties have a county park. These are parks that you can go to and have family picnics or family gatherings and they offer something for everyone. Usually they will have public tables, shelters, and play areas for the children. Many of them have tennis courts, basketball courts and maybe even walking trails. During the year many of these parks offer classes for physical activities that are for the entire family. They have different events to help you get physical and if you are a member of the community they may be free to participate or at a discounted admission price. Usually they will mail pamphlets out to your home but you can always call the parks or the county and see where to pick one up at.

They offer everything from tennis classes and may sponsor little league baseball, and softball for children. One of the parks in my community offers day camp throughout the summer so that they kids are well taken care of but they are outdoors most of the day getting physical activities while learning about nature and having a great time. This was so much better for them then being in a building all day. The price for the day camp was actually cheaper than the day care but this is usually only opened during the summer months.

The parks may offer many activities for the kids, from flying kites, to bike riding safety classes and contests for the best decorated bikes. These are usually one day class and activities but some of them may go over several days or weeks meeting just once a week. The dog obedience training class is designed just for kids, allowing them to bring their dogs and learning how to walk and care for the dogs themselves. There are usually nature learning lessons and classes held at these county parks during the summer.

The parks not only have classes and activities for children, but many offer physical activity classes for adults also. This is great way to get out and get physical while at the park. They hold weekly classes on yoga and other exercise that you usually can't find anywhere else. You can learn how to do arts and crafts such as photography, and stain glass. It really depends on if the park has a building where they can hold classes as to what they offer.

Getting physical this summer can be inexpensive and closer than you think to where you live. County parks are usually located close to where anyone lives and it doesn't take allot of gas or time to get to a county park.
