Your Long Hair: To Cut or Not to Cut - That is the Question

Some Things to Consider If You Are Thinking of Finally Cutting Your Long Hair

Finally making that decision to chop off your beautiful lock's can be a long thoughtful process, although before making thing's a little more certain, there are a few things for you to consider. More often than not, many people will cut too much off their hair which can lead to week's or even month's of unmanageable, un-styleable hair. To avoid this problem, try bringing in a picture of a predetermined hairstyle you would like your stylist to mimic on you. Try and pick a style that is of medium length, or in between where are currently are, and where you may just not be ready to go yet. Often women will find that this medium length is just what they wanted, and the idea of a short bob doesn't suit them at all. The shape of a person's face largely determines which hairstyles will look good on them and which will not. Also, gradually going shorter will allow you to slowly get used to the idea and see if it's for you or not.

If you are thinking about getting a shorter style because it looks great on a friend or movie star, you may want to reconsider your option's are this may not always reciprocate on you. There are many new website's online that will allow you to upload a picture and see what you may look like with prospective new haircut's.

Take stock of what your best features are and make your decision based on this. If you have a longer face, more hair can actually help square out your facial features and frame the face in a very eye-pleasing manner. Rounder, smaller face's can benefit more from a short 'bob' style, and depending on the style you choose, can be very complimentary to your features. When making your final styling decision, always consult a professional stylist as they will give you great advice based on current trend's and whats currently 'in'.

There are many benefit's for men and women thinking about getting their long hair cut also. One of the main reason's besides how aesthetically pleasing it may be to have short hair, would be how much easier short hair is to style. Just imagine waking up in the morning, and actually having time for breakfast instead of blow drying those long lock's! A little bit of professional product or styling aid will go a long way with short hair, so remember to keep some available, as short hair can tend to look messy if not styled regularly. Of course, another great benefit would be the great feeling of donating your extra hair to cancer. If you can, you could coordinate your new hair style around a cancer benefit where you could raise money for the cause, and donate your hair in the end. Anything to make these patients feel a little bit better about themselves should be a benefit in itself!

And last of all, remember that this is just hair, which will grow back in time. Nothing is permanent and you are only a few month's away from trying something completely new again. Sometimes we all get a little tired of how we look, and wish for a radical change. So if you really want to, go ahead and get that new cut! It might just change your life.
