Your Passion is Your Calling

Be Doers of The Word or You Will Be Deceived

After listening to Curry Blake for so long and seeing a short man, dressed with cowboy boots a white shirt and a west, someone who mingles with the crowd before the service starts, and someone who will not wait for you to take him out to dinner as a guest, but will take you out though he is the guest, I decided that he derved my respect.

Curry Blake has an amazing testimony. Yes, he has people that disagree with him , too, but I believe until you really know a person, you shouldn't write him or her off.

One of the things I learned from him, which of course we should all be doing because the Word commands us to do so, is to be doers of the Word not just hearers. Now that means more than going to a church service and saying a few prayers at home.

It means on purpose going to Walmart or the mall to pray for sick people; it means on purpose going to the park to pray for people and heal them; on purpose going to a hospital waiting room and let God show you who to pray for and minister to; on purpose going to a nursing home and cheer people up and again heal them. We know Jesus is the healer , the deliverer, etc. , but He needs some bodies to do those things through. We are the body.

As James says, " Be doers of the Word , not only hearers or you WILL be deceived". You will. It is a promise. Many people think that Christianity is just faith in the head or heart whatever they think faith is. But, faith is an action. It is a verb. It is putting God's Word to work.

Hebrews 4:12 says that the Word of God is ALIVE and WORKING! When you speak it, life comes forth; when you do it, life springs up; when you pray it, things change; because IT IS ALIVE!

It is more than just words on a page. When you use God's Word, He has to act because otherwise He would look like a liar. But that is not why He acts because He is a afraid of His reputation, but because that is His ESSENCE. He is ALIVE. HE is THE WORD.

I know so many of us read this and wonder what God would want them to then. They are ready and on fire, but do not know where to release that fire; what to do with it. I encourage you to look at your passion. What would want to make you get up in the morning? What is something you could not stop talking about? What is something you would do all day and effortlessly and full of energy? What is something you would do and no one would have to push you from behind? THAT is what YOU were created to do. Now, how are you going to get it done? That it what you need to ask God to show you. But do not waste time anymore being involved in something you are not created to do just to pay the bills. See, if you are doing that, then someone who has the passion to do what you hate doing, cannot do it because you took their place; you are not doing what you were created to do and that person is not either. Step out of the way and be a doer of the Word but based on who you are. Believe me, there is a way to use your gift and be content, make a difference, and make money, too to care for your family.

Satan is the one that makes us say, " I can't. That doesn't bring money. Etc. Etc." I will say to you: " Stop being so negative! As a man thinketh, so is he". There is life and death in the tongue. Bite your tongue. Don't create negative things in your life. Get up each morning and take the Bible and open it up and pray Scriptures!

You dont have food. Open to Hebrews 13:5 and on and say , " God , you said I should not love money because you said NO WAY you will leave me. So please give me the money , the job, etc to be able to bless my family and others, all for your glory!" If you still need more assurance, then open to Psalm 23 and pray it. Remind God of His Word. He will fulfill it in your lfie because He cannot lie and He is bound to do it. He loves fulfilling His Word!

Your kids are exposed to things they should not be, be a doer of the Word. Live an exemplary life before them and get your Bible out adn by faith pray, " God You said that I should teach my child the way they should go and when they are old they will not depart from it". Yes, they are not that receptive now, but keep sowing the Word of God into their hearts. His Word is ALIVE. He also said that what we sow ,we will reap. The reaping job is not your problem. Your job is to sow. God gives the increase and He brings the reaping. It is the law of the Kingdom that if you do your part, God will do His. Just keep telling those Bible stories to your children and keep taking them with you when you help or minister to someone and one they you will reap a harvest. Show them how.

My daughter, who is 6, has a fierce appetite lately for Bible stories. Maybe is because of how I tell them to her to that she cannot get enough. She asks me to tell her one more and one more. Yes, I worry sometimes how will she turn out, but then I remember that I am just supposed to sow and instruct and teacher her truth and God will bring the reaping. One day, when she is down, she will remember the story of Joseph. One day when she will have kids, she will remember how important it is to choose the right name for your children, because there is power in words; one day she will remember not to be afraid to do what it right because her mommy was not( well....I am working on that..:)) One day she will go to help poor people because God said we should and she also saw her mom and the small group doing it.You just keep doing your part.

The problem with us is that we keep wondering if God will do His. We are so worried with what and how will it happen and if God will keep His Word!!!??? He always does if we just believe and keep doing out part. He will do His part because He cannot do oen thing and that is : LIE. He cannot deny Himself. He cares about His name being on the line. "He leads me on the path of righteousness...because of HIS name sake" ( Psalm 23). He cares about His Name being glorified. Don't worry about Him doing His part. You just worry about yours.

Find out what you are passionate about and I gurantee you that is most likely what you were born to do. You just need a little faith and some determination to be all God wanted you to be wtih it and have with it. Don't give up!
