Conventionally, duplicated photographs that were transferred onto a variety of canvasses were done by hand drawn methods such as airbrushing or other means that copied images. Apart from the fact that these processes were tiresome, they did not maintain the originality of the photographs as most of these methods used untraditional mediums. These mediums included brick, concrete, clothing and cookware thus accentuating the need for a medium that exhibited more benefits like transferring photographs onto canvas.
Due to the progress and development in the field of printers and ink technology, it has contributed significantly to the longevity of the photographs on the canvas. Previously, the ink that was used faded over time and the photographs did not turn out to be as bright and colorful as the picture do today when pictures are transferred onto canvasses.
With the advent of transferring photos on canvas has facilitated the preservation of artwork for a longer duration. This has encouraged artists to adopt the method of photos onto canvas as it provides them with an opportunity to produce their artwork on a large scale and volume, as they know that their work has a longer life span than they did before.
Another attractive feature of photos onto canvas is that the cotton ingredients that are used for providing the surface bear a resemblance to the conventional paintings thus adding to the originality of the picture. It may seem that one has not paid much for transferring the photographs onto the canvas; in actuality one has paid a reasonable amount.
Moreover photos onto canvas provide for good decoration pieces for homes and offices as any picture whether that of scenery, a person, flowers etc can be easily photographed and transferred onto canvas art. Not only does it add to the beautification of any place rather it is economical as well.
Photos when transferred onto canvas become a form or artwork, thus serving as a perfect present for friends and family. Furthermore, once a photograph has been stored digitally it can be reproduced as many times as one wants and that too in varying sizes.
