Your Reflection

Terri Deno
As I sat there

In that seat

I could see your reflection

Through the door's window

You couldn't see me there

Behind the cold, stone wall

You were too busy talking to another

In the mid afternoon sun

My eyes tried to meet your distant gaze

The soft, emotional blue eyes

And your childlike blonde hair

Sticking up on the sides

Though our eyes never met

I remember your strong face

And if we'll never be together

I'll still remember that day

And this reflection

Embedded in my soul

Will never fade away

But it will stay here and haunt me

Every single day
