All of the dieting tips in the world won't help with your New Year's resolution to lose weight because you've resolved to get thin at the beginning of every year and have always put off starting that new diet "until next week." If you can't start eating healthy right now, just forget about it. The problem with resolving to start a new diet is that most people don't have the self control and personal discipline to start dieting the moment that they decided to make the change. If you can't stick to a diet, or even start a diet for that matter, the next best thing that you can do is to start exercising more . . . but you have to start right now, today!

Exercise can be done in many different styles and manners. You can choose to walk, run, go hiking, dance, ride a bicycle, roller skate, kayak . . . the list of things to do for exercise goes on and even includes such pleasurable activities like sex. The key to keeping up a steady exercise regiment that will help you lose weight is to find an exercise or several exercises that you enjoy. These exercises should be done about 30 to 45 minutes a day, should keep your heart rate up, and make you sweat. You've probably heard the old saying "No pain, no gain," but there's another new one, no sweat won't cut the fat! The best way to burn off those extra holiday calories is with some kind of aerobic exercise on a daily basis. The best way to explain what aerobic exercise is, without getting technical or scientific, anything that gets you breathing heavy enough to increase the amount of oxygen in your body for an extended amount of time(30-45 minutes). Basically, if you aren't breathing heavily and sweating you need to step up the pace or find yourself another form of exercise.

It might take a few days or even weeks before you can find an aerobic activity that you enjoy doing daily, but don't give up because the results are worth it. All of the dieting tips in the world will not help you keep your resolution to lose weight by dieting. It's time to kick that New Year's resolution diet to the curb because it won't work; you should exercise instead!
