A Positive Message to Gay Teens

Beauty & Femme

When I see the way gays are treated in this country, I get mad because it's just another form of discrimination. America is notorious for this kind of thing. If we aren't doing it to blacks, we're doing it to women. And if we aren't doing it to women, we're doing it to gays.

It seems that America has to pick on someone. But this too shall pass just like it did for women and minorities.

People are afraid change. If someone or something is different from what they're used to, they get creeped out and want to put an end to it. They use the bully tactic. They think that if they can scare gays back into the closet, they won't have to worry about accepting it. This is why the Civil Rights Movement was successful. It was blacks saying, "You know what? We're just as good as anyone else and we are here to stay. Get used to it."

Gays have to do the same thing. You have to make people respect you. Dr. Phil always says "you teach people how to treat you", and that's exactly true. If you act ashamed or afraid of who you are, people will use that to their advantage and they will try to make you feel like you're beneath them.

Everyone wants to be better than someone. Everyone wants to be someone's "master". And preying upon a group of people is a way to make themselves feel superior. They are playing that same slave/master game. They want YOU to be their slave, and they want to be your master by inflicting pain and fear upon you.

You have to let them know that you don't play that. If they have anything negative to say to you about your sexuality, tell them to get over it or get lost.
