Not only has Youth Culture experienced changes, but history has told a story itself. Unfortunate disasters have happened in the past. A war in the 70's was the Kent State Shooting's, this event occurred because of the Vietnam War. This matches up to the September 11 Attacks, which only not long ago, two planes hit the heart of the Twin Towers in the USA. There are also natural disasters that have happened in the 1970's, to start off the decade, on May 31st, a Earthquake struck Peru and killed 72,000 people and 700,000 left homeless. Then a tsunami in our current decade, September 25th 2003, starts off the coast of Hokkaido, Japan.
A lot of fads have come and gone from the 70's and now. Some fads in the 1970's included the collecting of Star Wars figurines and Trans Am automobiles. Some fairly common items you might find at a 1970's house is the famous Hula Girl (The Hawaiian girl dancing with a ukulele), the Cork Pop Gun, a gun with a length of string and cork attached to the gun, so when shot, the cork would project it self for a few centimetres and drop without hurting anyone. A few commonly watched shows were: The Happy Days and the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Where as today in the current decade, we have 3D and 4D movies! Technology has been inspired even further in making new gaming consoles such as the Wii which allows us to make use of our entire body while having fun at the same time. People are becoming less active with today's highly advanced technology.
Fashion is a great thing, not only do we look good and attractive, but it has changed in the past 30 years. In the early 1970's fashion was quite a big thing, people started to wear what they wanted to wear and it just simply became a fashion sense. Such as in the early 1970's people started to wear Mood rings, bell bottoms and hip huggers or unisex uniforms/clothes. Where as today in our society, people are more on how to look pretty, beautiful or hot, just as long as the item they wear doesn't make them look cheap or uncommon. Girls also tend to try wearing clothes that will show as much 'skin' as possible, this may be because they want too look attractive and 'slutty'.

Post a CommentThis is a terrible article. A lot of it makes no sense or is just silly. It is also poorly put together and the grammer is poor.
The youth of the seventies was happier than the youth of today.
A) In the seventies you could wear anything you wanted without somebody having a comment about your style.
B) The seventies were very experimental. Everybody was doing what they wanted to do without too much worries. Life was a lot easier than it is now.
C) Rock and Disco were not only the most popular genres of the seventies, they also changed the youth's way of thinking. This resulted the youth to develop a more free and happy character. Also, Rock played a big role in the drug abuse of that time because of it's psychedelic sound and philosophical lyrics.
