YouTube Downloads to Your Computer

The evolution of YouTube offers unheard of opportunities. I am of the older generation now and how did that happen? I guess like I tell my kids day by day. There was a funny video that someone sent mea link to that I wanted to download. I am not a novice at computers but it was not as easy as I thought.
