YouTube Can Help You Do Many Things and Also Save You a Lot of Money

A Good Search Can Save You Lots of Money in the Information Age

Jay Braun
Fifty years ago if anyone told you that just about anything you wanted to know could be found on the internet, you would have told them they were crazy. This is now a reality though. People are able to shop, bank, and even date on the internet today. Youtube.com is a website that has both informational as well as entertainment value. People also can communicate through it in a round and about way. The following examples are some ways you can use the site and things that can be done with it.

When you go to www.youtube.com you can create your own profile with your own user name and also select a password like most websites. Your profile can be customized with things like wallpaper, music that plays in the background and any personal information that you want to be viewed. You are able upload videos to the website that are either made by you or stuff that you really should not upload like copyrighted things like parts of movies or videos. You also can keep a list of friends and people can write and put comments on your profile. I have not personally tried but many people have found ways to earn money on youtube. It appears this is done by creating popular videos that people will look at and while someone is viewing your material they click on some advertisement.

One of the first things that you will find that you are able to do on youtube.com is watch videos of various music groups you like. I am really into hair metal and hard rock. Since you never know when they will plan a video you like on one of the music television stations youtube.com can save you time. You find the video you want to see by typing the name of the artist and video into the search bar and you are on your way to watching it. I found several of my favorite Motley Crue and Kiss videos from the 1980s on the site. All of these are available on various videos that you can purchase, but here you save yourself money and can watch it for free. I am sure the record companies did not play on this when youtube.com went online. If a record company complains that any material has a copyright youtube.com will take it down, but people just put it back up. You can often find concert and live performance clips the same way. Some companies actually put video on the site for people to view and don't mind if you do it. The thought is that people will buy stuff by seeing some free. I actually have purchased things based seeing some of it on youtube.com.

One thing that I just recently started doing on youtube.com is watching movies. Youtube.com has some movies that are on the site with the companies sanction. These movies are shown in their entirety in one part. The selection is not super huge, but it is growing. I have watched a couple on there including a horror movie called Tamara and The Incredible Hulk Returns. Many users also will upload movies, which is technically naughty to do. Typically it will be uploaded in parts ranging from 4 and up to 15. If it's a really longs series they will subdivide it like disc one part 2 and so forth. I have watched Roots, Roots The Next Generation, all of the Friday the 13th movies, various George Romero movies and others this way. Many of these I would have bought and spend at least $5 or more on. Now you will never find clips to a movie that is very new as they are taken down quicker than you can say lawsuit, but any movie that is more than five years old usually will not be bothered with. Again there are some studios that actually put their movies on youtube.com. I assume they make money from the ads that happen before some of the movies start. Now all have ads before them but some do. I figure I have saved at least $100 or more per year in movie expenses because of this.

If you like to follow news or politics that is also on there. Stations like Fox and CBS have various parts of their news broadcasts on there. You also can find various political commentaries. If you are liberal and want to give the country away there are several like opinioned videos that are on youtube that share that view. If you are patriotic and want to keep the country a great nation there are also several things to look at. They actually have several channels that are set up that expose and refute the lies of the liberal agenda. Youtube.com actually has various campaign ads and people often will put sources to show that some of the claims are lies. Both parties do this so it's not a Democrat or Republican monopoly on lies. The American backlash against healthcare socialization was greatly helped by youtube as various people from all over were able to share ideas and organize. You will probably be able to argue one day that America was saved by stopping the liberal Obama agenda in its tracks. He came to power by a grassroots movement and his supermajority was defeated by one as well and will continue to be.

There are also various things that you can find how to do on youtube.com. There are academic things from learning how to add fractions to how to play songs on my guitar. You can also see various products reviewed. I have checked out numerous video games this way before deciding to buy them. Speaking of video games with youtube.com you can find several video game cheats for free and also how to run various missions on games instead of spending $20 for a books on the subject. It is really hard to put a value on this, but I figure I have saved lots of money by not buying things that are junk and buying things that are good. I was once looking at a guitar amplifier and checked out examples on youtube.com. I could tell by hearing it that it was not going to work for what I was looking for. This saved me $500 that I was just about ready to go and spend.

Now like with anything there are things that you can learn how to do on youtube.com that really should not be on there. Many get taken down but just get put back up. You can find videos were girls explain the best way to give a blowjob. I am not saying this is a bad thing, but that is not the kind of thing younger audiences should be looking at. You also can find out how to turn a simple disposable camera into a stun gun, or do some basic repairs to almost anything around the house. I actually learned a very basic repair for a computer on youtube once again saving me a very large amount of money. I would not advise anyone to take anything said on there as absolute though and use common sense if you are going to take tips from youtube. There are even people on there that show you the proper way to funnel a beer or roll a joint. I personally and not into weed and that is one of the things that really should not be on there, but since youtube is worldwide it is probably ok as weed is legal in some countries.

The only major complaint I have about youtube.com is some of their censorship and how it does not seem to be applied fairly. It is not hard to make a new account if one gets suspended and people often do this if they get kicked off. I have noticed that anyone with pro black views almost never would get kicked off, but I have seen people with pro-white views ( not anti-black at all) that simply state facts like Africa being the craphole of the world and what happens if people get a group together to send flags into youtube and then the person gets banned. When someone is attacking or threatening someone I can see that and they should lose their account, but for someone to make a comment like "if the Africans were so superior to the Europeans why were they conquered so easily and enslaved?" Is a very legitimate thesis compared to the various ones that the afro-centrics (most of whom could not name 6 countries in Africa) were saying. This is really the only thing that I have against it.
