You've Been PRANKED!

Ok, so maybe I am a little late on this, as most of you probably pulled your pranks already, or your unsuspecting victims have realized it is in fact "April Fools Day" and will make it that much difficult to fool them. Myself being the lover of good pranks, be them funny, mean or downright disgusting I have played quite a few in my time. This gives my conciensce the perfect excuse to get back at those #@*& that have done mean things to me in the past. You can pull a prank and chalk it up to April Fools Day.

April Fools day began in the late 1500's in France under the rule of Charles IX. Back then it was referred to as "All Fools Day". When the Gregorian Calendar was introduced and New Years Day was moved from March 25- April 1st (New Years Week) to January 1st. Communication travelled slowly in these days and some people did not find out about the change until several years later. These people were then labelled as "fools" and had numerous pranks played on them. The tradition then travelled to Britian and Scotland in the 18th Century, then was introduced to the American Colonies by the English and the French.

Here are some practical jokes that are sure to make you laugh, and possibly enrage your unwitting suspect.

1) The Welcome Letter
This works for best on someone who has strong convictions against a certain organization. It works extremely well on Homophobes or People against Guns. You type up a letter like so;
Dear ________________

We have recieved your membership dues for $35 and would like to sincerely welcome you to the (insert City name here) chapter of the GALRA (Gay and Lesbian Rights Association). We appreciate your support and encourage our members to participate in all of our meetings and events, held throughout the year. If you have any questions, please call our headquarters office at (insert phony number here) or visit our website (hyperlink to some adult website such as scatlovers.com). Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday April 22 at 7:00 pm in the Cultural Arts (or any other building you can think of) room 221. Food and beverages will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there and once again Welcome to GALRA.

In order for this to work perfectly, you have to go to a free email website like yahoo or hotmail and create a phony email address. Something like GALRAORLANDO@hotmail.com. If you are doing it to an unsuspecting co-worker or ex-boss, ensure you blind copy everyone in the entire company.

2) The Love Letter

Concoct a heartfelt and graphic love letter to your sister-in law, brother -in law, best friend or spouses best friend. This will only work if at least one of the parties involved are married and in a relationship. Tell them in the letter that you have had a crush on them since you met them, and wish to plan a secret getaway with them. The more graphic you can get the better. Make sure you indicate somewhere at the end of it that this is indeed and April Fools Joke.

3) The Occupied Stall

Placed a pair of pants and shoes inside the only toilet stall in a men's room to make it appear someone was using the stall. It sat there for hours until someone called security to check if the person had died

4) The Office Drunk off

Load up the pop machine with cans of beer. Watch the entire office come belligerent drunks.

5) "Sorry, We're all out.

Placed a sign on the restroom door that read, "The Company ran out of toilet tissue; please use your own resources."

6) The Birthday Slip

Next time you're out to eat with a friend, slip away to the restroom. While you're gone, tell your server that it's your friend's birthday, adding 10 years, of course. Ask the staff to bring over a dessert and sing, including the age in the song.

7) The Juvenile

On your co-workers desk, leave a message saying Harry Lyon called, he says it is urgent, call immediately. Then put the number of an out of state zoo.

8) The Defective Mouse

Put a small sticky note on the bottom of all your co-workers computer mice (usually works best on the infrared kind). Write APRILS FOOLS on the sticky note. Watch everyone frantically call IT requesting for help. If you are lucky you will have that one particularlly angry co-worker who will throw it across the room.

9) Hold My Calls

Tape the phone hook button down then hang up the reciever. When your co-worker (or other person) answers the phone, it will keep ringing.

10) The Attention Grabber

Tape magnets to the bottom of a empty coffee cup, then attach it to the top of your car. Watch how frantically everyone tries to get your attention. Its good if you just stare back at them like you are absolutely confused as to what they could be talking about.

11) The Hide and Seek

Make several copies of a paperclip and load them into the paper tray of the copier. People will go crazy trying to find the paperclip stuck in the copier.

12) The Ransom Note

Take an item from the victims office, desk or any other important item. Make sure it is something they use alot, like a coffee mug, stapler, or cell phone (for a non-coworker). Take a picture of the item (polaroid works best) and place it in the exact spot the item was originally, along with a "ransom" note.
