Yu-Gi-Oh TCG: Dark World Deck

The Deck Arch Type of Dark World

Robert Guinn
In recent years the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG has really been influenced by tunnel vision. Every deck is the same, each person plays the same way, and it's all just blah after a while. Well no longer will that be a problem when a player learns how to use and prefect a deck based around some of the most powerful yet underused monsters in the game. Say hello to the cast of characters known as Dark World!

Dark World monsters have been around for only a short time, just under a years time but can prove to be quite useful if you have enough of them and know what cards to play. The monsters themselves are extremely powerful and their effects are what make them great. The effects involve them getting discarded, so when you use a card like Dark World Lightning that requires you to ditch a card from your hand, these Dark World monsters effects activate.

Sillva Warlord of Dark World is a must in every deck. This guy attacks for 2300, and when he is sent from your hand to the graveyard, he gets special summoned back to the field! So with cards like Dark World Lightning, or Card Destruction he comes right back into play!

Goldd Wu-Lord of Dark world is much the same as his counterpart Sillva. If he is thrown into the discard pile he's coming right back out, and of course his attack is another massive 2300

Brron Mad King of Dark World does not have the regeneration ability that Sillva and Goldd do, but he provides the means to special summon them. Brron has the effect of discarding a card from your hand if you wish, not that great upon first glance, but the implications within the Dark World deck are really amazing when you look at them since all you want to do is throw your creatures away to get their effects. Another bonus to this guy is he has a decent 1800 attack and his artwork is really cool!

Broww Huntsmen of Dark World is another very strong card, as far as effects go. His attack is a meager 1400, but if he is sent from your hand to the graveyard then he allows you to draw a card. The effect is like Jar of Greed, but with 1400 attack. Broww is not the best of the Dark World creatures by any means but his ability to mill through your deck and get to some of your more important cards is vital.

Beige Vanguard of Dark World is just like Sillva and Goldd because he comes out of the graveyard after being sent there from your hand, however he is far weaker. Beige only has 1600 attack, so he is really only a decent addition to any Dark World deck.

With the release of the newest Yu-Gi-Oh Expansion Strike of Neos, Dark World creatures are getting some additions. These monsters are not as powerful as those past, but their effects are great in any Dark World oriented deck

Reign - Beaux Overlord of Dark World has 2500 attack points making him the strongest of the Dark World monsters however his effect is very conditional. He can be special summoned from the graveyard and destroys all of your opponents magic/trap cards, or monsters on the field, but there is a catch. Where as most Dark World monsters have to be discarded by you, this guy only achieves his effect by way of an opponent discarding him, which in the current format seems a bit unlikely.

Kahkki Guerilla of Dark World has the effect of killing off any monster on the field when he is sent from the hand to the graveyard. This is by any card effect, wither it's yours of your opponents making him a good addition to any deck, however his attack is a mere 300, extremely low.

Gren Tactician of Dark World seems to be the counterpart of Kahkki. This guy kills off magic or trap cards on the field by the same way Kahkki kills monsters, and his attack is just as pitiful at only 300.

Support cards are one of the major advantages to the Dark World monsters. Cards like Dark World Lightning knock out any facedown cards in play, and have the effect of discarding cards from your hand, like Sillva? Also Dark World Dealings allows both players to draw one card, and then discard one card, this will inevitably allow you to drop a Dark World monster in the graveyard and summon him back to play.

Dark World decks are starting to appear around the nation, but slowly. Their sacrificial play style is something of an unknown to the world of Yu-Gi-Oh but it brings much need diversity to the game. Dark World decks are fun to play and as we figure out more combinations as time goes on they will only become more and more powerful!

Ok i can say that this is a load. I play a Dark World deck and I can summon Reign Beaux, if i had him, pretty easily, The best support card is Dark Deal, causes a normal magic card that is played by an opponet to change from its normal effect to read, ur opponet randomly discards one card, since all Dark World Monsters, except range gate keeper and zure knight. All the Dark Worlders work together in very specific burn decks that include all discard cards that are not cost effects.
