Yummy Appetizers for a New Year's Eve Party

PARTY RYE APPETIZERS

1 lb. bulk pork sausage

1 lb. Velveeta, cut into 1 inch cubes

2 tbsp. catsup

1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

1/2 tsp. oregano

1/8 tsp. garlic powder

2 (8 oz.) loaves party rye bread

Brown sausage in a heavy skillet; drain. Melt cheese over low heat, stirring frequently. Add sausage, catsup and next 3 ingredients; mix well. Spread about 2 teaspoons of mixture on each bread slice and bake on ungreased baking sheet at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.

To freeze, place individually on baking sheets. When frozen, place in freezer bag. Take out as wanted and bake unthawed at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Yields: approximately 5 dozen appetizers.

PARTY APPETIZER PIE

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened

1 (2 1/2 oz.) jar dried beef, finely chopped (or substitute 5 slices bacon,

cooked crisp)

2 tbsp. finely chopped green pepper

1/2 c. sour cream

2 tbsp. milk

2 tbsp. instant onion

1/8 tsp. pepper

1/4 c. chopped nuts

Blend cream cheese and milk in a 1 quart mixing bowl. Add dried beef, onion, and green pepper. Mix well. Stir in sour cream. Spread evenly in 8 inch pie plate. Cover with waxed paper. Cook 2 minutes. 15 seconds on high or until mixture is hot. Let stand 2 minutes to firm slightly. Sprinkle with nuts; garnish with parsley. Serve with assorted crackers.

APPETIZER PARTY PINWHEELS

1 (8 oz.) sour cream

1 (4 oz.) can diced green chilies, well drained

1 c. grated Cheddar cheese

5 (10 inch) flour tortillas

1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened

Garlic powder to taste

Seasoned salt to taste

Mix all of the filling ingredients together thoroughly. Divide the filling and spread evenly over the tortillas; roll up tortillas like a jelly roll. Cover tightly with plastic wrap, twisting ends; refrigerate several hours. Unwrap; cut in slices 1/2 to 3/4 inches thick. Serve with salsa or picante sauce.

2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened

1 pkg. Hidden Valley Ranch Milk Recipe Original Ranch Salad Dressing Mix

2 green onions, minced

4 (12 inch) flour tortillas

1/2 c. diced red pepper

1/2 c. diced celery

1 can sliced black olives, drained

Mix first 3 ingredients. Spread on tortillas. Sprinkle on remaining ingredients. Then roll and wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Chill at least 2 hours. Cut as thick as you like - 1/2 to 1 inch slices.

PARTY MEATBALL APPETIZERS

2 lbs. hot sausage

2 lbs. sweet sausage

1 1/2 c. bread crumbs

2 tbsp. minced onions

4 eggs, beaten

2 tsp. sage

SAUCE:

4 c. (32 oz.) ketchup

4 tbsp. vinegar

1/2 c. soy sauce

16 tbsp. brown sugar

Mix into bite size meatballs and brown in skillet. Put in Dutch oven or glass casserole. Pour sauce over them and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until done.
