Yuwie Pays Users to Join Social Networking Site!

I will admit it. I am a myspace snob. I don't do Facebook, or any of the other social networking sites that arrive on an hourly basis. I stick with the tried and true and deal with the glitches that frequent myspace users are accustomed to. And its not that I have a ton of friends- under 20, but for the most part, they are real friends of mine, or have become so, even if I've never met them in person. So when one of my friends sent me an invitation to Yuwie.com, I was skeptical. Even more skeptical when she claimed you get PAID to use it. But in the never-ending quest of the almighty dollar, I figured I would check it out.

Myspace and Facebook are going to have some stiff competition!

I was pleasantly surprised by Yuwie. The interface is comfortable for Myspace users to adapt to, and while customization is not quite as open as Myspace, it is more than what Facebook offers. There is the ability to email other users, blog, add photos, add comments to your friends pages, most of the creature comforts we have come to expect from Myspace is found on Yuwie as well. And a few other pleasant surprises. At the top of the page is a "Sound Board" where you can post announcements, photos (HTML is allowed), general comments, things like that.

One of the nicest features is a feature that Myspace recently took away - the ability to post links to sites outside of Yuwie. On Myspace I can no longer have a little banner linking to my content producer page, but on Yuwie, its no big deal. And for me, being able to do such relatively "minor" things IS a big deal. I was quite disturbed when I realized all my links on my Myspace page no longer worked and redirected (thanks to something known as MSPlinks) to the Myspace homepage. For people who run an Ebay business or their own website selling merchandise, or even to their content producer page, Myspace was, until recently, a viable marketing tool.

There is also an Associated Content group (referred to as "clubs") that I joined and have been participating in!

The glitter comments and HTML graphics that many users love using are functional on Yuwie as well. And page customization and layouts are another great tool. Personally, I have not figured out all the kinks, but I know there is a way because I have seen user layouts that look similar to the Myspace layouts. There are premade layouts you can select and use as well in a variety of colors, themes and interests. You can also make your own layout and have the option of sharing it with other Yuwie members.

Yuwie is a free site, like most social networking sites. However, one main difference is that you can get PAID to use the site. This happens by inviting people, who join, by being active in the community and how many people look at your profile, read your blogs, leave comments and view your photos. There is a $50 minimum to earn before you can get paid, and it is net 60, meaning it will take 60 days after you accumulate $50 to get either your check or a paypal payment. This is because Yuwie must wait to get paid from their advertisers, whose terms are net 60. The $50 and 60 days may seem like a bit, but if you use the site consistently and have a "down line" who uses consistently and everyone participates on a regular basis, I think it will be fairly easy to meet the $50 minimum.

Overall, I do like Yuwie, and plan on being a regular user. I have already posted several Blogs and invited friends and hope that they come and give it a try!
