Zac Efron is Gay, Fabulous, and Probably Straight

Zac Efron is gay. He's also fabulous, sort of cute, and straight.

That's right. Zac Efron is gay and straight! I'm not insinuating that he bats for both leagues, but we've decided that poor lil' Zac Efron is fabulously gay. Somewhere between Vanessa Hudgens' sex scandal and his pretty blue eyes, we decided that he couldn't be straight. Sorry, Zac, but you're a bit weird -- you have to be gay. Aren't we all saying that? But what if he is straight? Then what? Do we look at our shoes and say "Whoops"? We really think he's gay because he's effeminate, but does femininity mean that Zac Efron is gay? Well in this case, maybe not.

Men Wear Makeup Too!
According to some 'insiders', Efron showed up on the set of his new movie wearing full makeup. That included foundation, black eyeliner, eye shadow, blush, and mascara.

Unconfirmed rumor: Zac Efron wishes he was Gackt.

People comment that Zac looks like he's wearing foundation and fake eyelashes in many of his red carpet appearances. That bothers most of the celebrity gossip population. There are other rumors saying that he's obsessed with his appearance, and maybe rightly so. He's considered a heartthrob, just like Leonardo DiCaprio was when Titanic was released.

So now that we know he's donned makeup -- full makeup, even -- does that mean he's gay? His girlfriend reportedly told him to man up, but she seems more concerned with keeping her clothes on.

Is he gay? In this case, maybe. Makeup doesn't always equal gay, and gay doesn't always equal makeup. Chuck Liddell, an MMA fighter, paints his toenails and reportedly has a stripper pole in his house. People aren't crying bloody gay murder at him, so why does Zac get this criticism? Is it the fact that he's young, stars in a series of teen movies, and likes to look wear makeup?

Zac Efron apparently doesn't care about your gay rumors, gossipers! Here's what he had to say in the February 2008 issue of Details Magazine, provided by bgay.com:

"I know it's very addictive to read that kind of stuff. It's entertainment. Perez has obviously struck a chord in the public eye. He's doing something right. That deserves admiration-I think he does a great job. Um-" He pauses for a moment, then adds, "Honestly, if the worst he can say about me is that I'm gay, then I think I'll be fine. I can handle it."

Because of this response, some people think Zac is gay. A man that doesn't feverishly deny gay rumors is gay, right? At least that's what many people are assuming.

Then there's his role in the High School Musical series. He sings, dances, and sings some more. It's a musical. People think that's the indicating factor right there -- what straight man stars in a movie that involves dancing, singing, and musical drama? No straight man does that, right?

Maybe.

Look Ma, No Lisp!
Let's move on to the straight evidence.

- Zac kisses girls.
- Zac has (or had, depending on what rumors you listen to) a girlfriend.
- Some people argue that Zac can't be gay because he doesn't have 'the gay lisp'. I knew a homosexual man in high school who didn't have a lisp -- does that mean he's been fooling us all along?
- There's his walk. He walks like a man. He doesn't prance around the red carpet like a sissy. He walks like a true, heterosexual man!
- I actually know straight men that wear foundation. Efron's not gay after all!
- Additionally, many male Japanese stars wear makeup. But they're straight!

Zac Efron can't possibly be gay, right? He's straight, right?

Maybe.

Zac Efron is a Man's Man, Man!
Maybe Zac Efron's gay. Maybe he's straight. Makeup isn't always indicative of gayness, and his makeup use is the only real reason people think he's homosexual. He hasn't done anything else to indicate he's not straight, so why do people accuse him? Maybe his femininity bothers some people, but clearly it doesn't bother him. Isn't that all that matters?
