Zac Posen for Target Limited Edition Line Opens April 25, 2010

Fashion superstar Zac Posen is collaborating with Target to offer a limited edition collection to be sold at Target stores and Target Online. This limited edition collection consists of 29 garments and two accessories ranging from swimwear pieces to suiting. The Zac Posen for Target Look Book features these garments and accessories in 21 "looks" taking you from workday to evening to weekend fun in the sun.

Look #1 of Zac Posen for Target
Zac Posen offers a Snap Tape Dress in Blue for $69.99. This cute little number falls to mid thigh with slightly fluttered capped sleeves. The snap tape accents cinch the waist, finish the deep neckline and run vertically throughout the length of the dress. The neckline is open down to the waist with about four pieces of snap tape securing the neckline beginning at the bust.

This second look is the layering of two different dresses: Tank Dress in Tie-Dye Print for $29.99 and the Two-Piece Ruffled Dress in Navy/Black for $79.99. The tank dress is the top layer of the look and as a result, the model has to hold the ruffled skirt from the two-piece ruffled dress in her hand. When trying this look out, leave the ruffled skirt at home and wear the rest as is. The tank dress has a see-through, open-V bodice making it necessary to wear another garment under it.

At first glance, this ensemble looks like it is a one-piece dress, due in part to the pleated top's tie-dye section that resembles straps. An adorable weekend dress is Posen's Brocade Tie Dress in Floral Print for $74.99. This cute, sleeveless mini dress has a round neck, side pockets at the skirt and a bow tied at the front waist. This look is great for a Saturday shopping spree or lunch with the girls. The tie may make this a little too much for a date.

The most expensive item in the collection would be made from genuine leather, the Moto Leather Jacket in Red priced at $199.99. This dangerous jacket is paired with the Tuxedo Bodysuit in Black for $34.99, tuxedo skirt and braided belt in black. Good girls will definitely turn into bad girls (at least look the part) in this look.

Zac Posen skates the line between sexy and skanky with his Sweater Dress in Black ($49.99). This mini dress can be worn slightly off the shoulder to bear a little more flesh. Modesty issues will arise with this dress as the flared edge of the skirt is see-through revealing the entire thigh area. If you plan to stand up the entire time wearing it, striking only runway poses you will be ok. Chances are you will want to move around in this dress therefore matching underwear or a half slip are recommended to protect your assets.

Look #14 of Zac Posen for Target
The two-piece ruffled dress from Look #2 stands alone when colored in red with ruffled skirt attached. To add a little edge to this dress, the leather moto jacket can be worn with it. Also, in place of the black/navy version of this dress for Look #2 try this red version to add contrast and color.

Posen Look #15 for Target
Zac Posen takes Target into unchartered waters for the retailer with his Gown in Safety-Pin Print for $69.99. Gowns are not found in Target stores so if this lovely number becomes a hit (why would it not?) then Target may want to think about selling more gowns.

Zac has up'd the cool meter with paring his black cardigan with his Zac Lipstick Tank in White ($16.99) and Tuxedo Pants in Black ($39.99). The Zac lipstick tank is perhaps one of the sexiest tanks around and paired with the tuxedo pant you will be worthy of your own background music while strutting down the street.

Posen Look #17
The fun, laid-back female is the ideal candidate for the Chambray Dress in Blue ($39.99), the Zac Lipstick Tee in Red ($16.99) and the braided black belt. This casual chambray dress has side patch pockets at the drawstring hem and buttons down the front center. A loose fitting spaghetti strap bodice makes the braided belt almost a necessity if you choose to wear nothing underneath. The Zac Tee is a cute accent for the dress but can also hold its own front and center if worn over the bodice of the dress.
