Zahra Baker Case: 'I Found Zahra Dead' Claims Stepmom, Elisa Baker
Jailhouse Letters to a Cousin Claim that Zahra Had Been Sick and was Found Dead
If a normal person found a child dead, they would call 911, the police or fire department. A rational person does not try to get rid of the body.
Apparently, Elisa Baker has been writing to the owner of a blog about serial killers and her family members about her stepdaughter Zahra.
Zahra has been missing since at least October 9, 2010, when her father reported her missing to a 911 operator. Her stepmother, Elisa Baker is in jail on two obstruction of justice charges. The police new from the beginning that Zahra was presumed dead.
According to the letters that Elisa Baker has written from jail to the owner of a serial killer website, the police and Adam Baker, Zahra's father, know where Zahra is and what Adam did to her. Elisa said that they "didn't really kill her, but what he did after the fact was kinda horrifying." She went on to say that she would file for divorce and that it is unfair that Adam Baker was arrested and released and she is still in jail. She also exclaims that "Zahra isn't missing."
She also wrote letters to a cousin wherein she stated that "I found Zahra dead." Elisa Baker, Zahra's stepmother, says that Zahra had been sick for some time. She seems to be pointing the finger at her husband and he is staying quiet.
Zahra Baker was a bone cancer survivor with a prosthetic leg and two hearing aids. She and her father lived in Australia until about a year and a half ago when her father met Elisa online and move to the United States to marry her.
She came to the attention of American when her father reported her missing on October 9, 2010, but the story sounded suspicious from the beginning. Earlier in the day there was a fire in the backyard of the home, but during and after the fire he did not check on his daughter. In the evening when he finally called police, he said that he had not seen her since 2:30 a.m.
There was also a fake ransom note, but for the daughter of Adam Baker's boss' daughter. Apparently Elisa and Adam were trying to throw the investigators off of their track.
Police have since found a bone that they believe is related to the case, two mattresses that they believe were Zahra's and thrown out prior to October 9, and a prosthetic leg that they have verified is Zahra's.
Now they have admissions in letters from her stepmother, that she found Zahra dead and that the father did something horrifying to the 10 year old which suggests that she may have been dismembered.
Zahra's father worked for some type of wood or lumber company that owned a commercial wood chipper. His place of employment has been thoroughly searched.
Friends, neighbors and family members have said that the stepmother was abusive towards Zahra and that it was reported to social services. One woman claimed that Zahra was beat every time she saw her for minor infractions.
Police are searching the area where they found the bone and the prosthetic leg to find more evidence.
Adam Baker remains out on bond. Elisa Baker remains in jail. Zahra Baker still has not been found.
Emily Dietrich, Zahra's biological mother speaks out for the first time.

Post a CommentNo, the stepmother Elisa Baker was not mentally ill, she was evil. Women can be just as evil as men.
The devil and his cohorts are alive and well. Someone asked the question, "How could this have happened." Perhaps we could think about mental illness on the part of the stepmother, but more importantly we should think of what has happened to our society as a whole. What has become acceptable now, even encouraged, what we are bombarded with every day as acceptable behavior; I don't think we need to ponder the whys for very long. I don't believe that father and stepmother are mentally ill; I think they have been infected with evil through the stepmother's Goth interests and fascinations. Justice will prevail in their case, and remember child abusers have a way of meeting their end without much ado while in prison. God called Zahra home to end her suffering, albeit in a horrid manner, but perhaps this way the killers will be stopped from repeating their heinous crimes. If one can kill and mutilate a child, I shudder to think of what else they could do. Evil has not won, although
Rest in peace Zahra!
So many people are commenting on the biological mother's contribution to her neglect. What I don't get is that then there are people including Nancy Grace who talk about why the father and stepmother didn't just leave her with the grandmother...give her up or whatever rather than abuse her. Seems like the mother did the responsible thing here...she knew she wasn't capable at the time of giving her the parenting that she needed and thought the father and grandmother would be providing her with what she needed...so peple think she should have raised her without wanting to like the father and stepmother...I don't get that. I hope her mother finds some peace with this and knows she made the "responsible" decision.
Wondering if she had started showing signs that the cancer had returned, they probably knew that this was the case and neglected to take her to the doctor not really caring what the outcome was and not wanting to spend the time going through this illness with her because they obviously did not care about this beautiful little girl. It hasn't been that long since her cancer had gone into remission. Has anyone mentioned her oncology follow ups in the US. Certainly she would be having surveillance every few months...I'm betting they never even bothered finding a doctor here and she hasn't been since she came from Australia. She had bone cancer AND lung cancer...not a doctor but seems likely there would be very close surveillance. Someone mentioned she seemed very well taken care of because she dressed so well and had highlights in her hair....are you serious? She was bald wearing a scarf two years ago when they got married...she hasn't even had the chance to have many haircuts...can
Dorothy, yes you are right. She even had highlights in her hair and she was clean and neat. May be the stepmom was good at some things.
This is something neither on Nancy Grace nor on-line comments...Has anyone noticed how well the child was dressed and her hair looked as if someone saw that her hair was cut and styled. She did not look like an unhappy child. (?)
The real mother was fighting for custody but the father kept moving which made it impossible for her to get Zahra. She said that she just located them in the U.S. just six days before Zahra went missing.
where is the real mother of this poor child? I think we need something done to protect children like this. to think the father had parts in this makes me sick.he should rot in jail with that sicko he is married to. If you ask me they are both in on this.. I will keep praying for her to be found safe... me prays go out to her. If they didnt want her why not give her to someone in the family who did, and would love her.. not hurt her.. as for the stepmother hope you get what you have coming to you in jail... Both of yous....Zahra I will keep praying for you...GOD BLESS AND I PRAY KEEP YOU SAFE
I DONT BELIEVE A WORD THAT COMES OUT OF EITHER OF THEIR MOUTHS.. TO KID A BEAUTIFUL LITTLE GIRL LIKE THAT. I THINK THEY BOTH SHOULD GET THE DEATH ROW. THATS TO GOOD FOR THEM SHOOT THEM..I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING IN THIS CASE SINCE IT HAPPENED TO THINK A FATHER COULD DO SUCH A THING TO HIS DAUGHTER IT JUST MAKES ME SICK..THIS LITTLE GIRL HAD A HOLD ON MY HEART.. I PRAY FOPR HER, AND IF SHE IS DEAD I PRAY SHE DIDNT HAVE TO DIE IN PAIN AS SHE SEEMED TO LIVE IT. WHERE WAS THE MOTHER??? ITS SO SO SAD
