Zahra Baker case heating up as police take her stepmom, Elisa Baker, to a potential crime scene and then find something of interest. Authorities have not revealed what was found on Wednesday, but they have said that they do believe Zahra was murdered and they do have persons of interest in the case.

Elisa Baker, Zahra's stepmother, was seen in the back of a van at a creek that is in the vicinity of a residence that Elisa Baker lived in in 2007. It is believed that she was leading police to an area where evidence in the case may be found.

Zahra's biological mom, Emily Dietrich is on her way to North Carolina and may arrive as early as Thursday. She has said that she believes that Zahra is dead because she no longer has the feeling that Zahra is alive and also because authorities have told her they believe she is dead.

Ms. Dietrich has said that she has continually tried to fight for custody of Zahra, but Zahra's dad, Adam Baker, kept moving to avoid being taken to court. She tracked Adam and Zahra down in North Carolina just three days before Zahra was reported missing on October 9, 2010.

Zahra is a bone cancer survivor and wears a prosthetic leg and two hearing aids. She was last seen by someone other than her father and stepmother on September 25, 2010. Her prosthetic leg was found near a prior residence of her stepmother, Elisa Baker. Two mattresses believed to be Zahra's were found at a local landfill. Police believe that they were dumped at the landfill days before Zahra was reported missing. Authorities are currently testing the mattresses for evidence.

Besides the unknown evidence just collected on Wednesday, police have also found a bone that they are testing for evidence. The bone was found in the same vicinity as the prosthetic leg.

Elisa Baker is currently in jail on obstruction of justice charges after she faked a ransom note to cover up the disappearance of Zahra. She has written many letters from jail to family members and the owner of a serial killer website. In the letters, she has mentioned that Zahra is dead, but that they (her and Adam Baker) didn't really kill her, but that he did something horrifying to the body after she was dead.

Adam Baker was arrested on unrelated charges and then released.

Police are still searching the area for any sign of Zahra Baker. They have even taken walls and flooring out of her home to find more evidence.

Family, friends and neighbors have told police that they reported Elisa Baker to social services for abusing Zahra.
