Big cities often tend to be expensive. Food is one of those things that can be expensive. So if you can find a good place to eat and get the food at a good price then you are doing pretty good. One place in Orange that is priced low but has good quality food is Zankou Chicken in Anaheim.

There are a couple Zankou Chicken in the area including one in LA but for some reason the LA one is not as good so we will cover the better Zankou Chicken in Anaheim. The Anaheim Zankou Chicken is located at 2424 West Ball Road Suite S. As you might have guessed Zankou Chicken serves chicken. You may be expecting something like KFC but that is not what you will get here instead you will get Middle Eastern food.

Some people may be put off by Middle Eastern food but really it is pretty much the same kind of barbecued chicken you would get at other places. They just also have some foods that are more ethnic but most of the menu items even those less culinary adventurous will be familiar with.

Zankou Chicken makes its own pita bread which is pretty good. You do not often see places making their own pita bread but when you do it is always good. Besides the fresh pita other popular food include the kabobs, chicken tarna, and you will want to make sure to try the garlic sauce on whatever you get.

Any of the beef options are highly recommended even though Zankou might specialize in chicken the beef choices from the steak to the tri tip and everything else is amazing. What is even more amazing is that you can get such good beef for so cheap. It almost makes you wonder if they are so good at making chicken they figured out how to fool everyone and make a chicken taste like a great steak.

You can get some simple chicken dishes here which are all pretty good. If you love Greek food though you will be glad to see that Middle Eastern food is a lot like Greek food with things like kabobs and humus. The meal is pretty healthy for you. The meal is also light on your wallet which is nice when living in the area.

If you are not stuffed after eating at Zankou you will want to head next door to grab some desert at Sarkis Pastry. Zankou and Sarkis should just merge and be one great place to eat.

Overall Zankou Chicken is a pretty good place to grab a bite. About the only bad thing about Zankou Chicken is that it is not the best Middle Eastern food in Little Arabia since it is focuses on food that are not just Middle Eastern. If you do go to Zankou Chicken though make sure to go to the one in Anaheim and not LA.
