Zapatista Finally Opens

My wait is finally over. Zapatista Cantina opened in Lincoln Park, for lunch and dinner, on Monday, January 3, 2011. Located at 444 West Fullerton Parkway, I could not wait for this to happen. Having eaten at their other location in Northbrook, I eagerly anticipated the Lincoln Park location because I'm in LP, at least once a week, if not more.

My friend and co-worker were so excited to go there for lunch, yesterday, January 5, 2011, that we left work early to make sure we got a seat. Walking in, the decor was similar to the Northbrook location, and the food was just as amazing. I had the enchiladas de mariscos, which is what is usually get when I go to Northbrook, and as usual, it was delicious. Daily, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., you can order items such as the flautas, empanadas and guacamole for $3.00, as part of their Siesta Menu.

From 10 p.m. to closing time, they make the Siesta Menu available again, for those late night snacks. My co-worker loved her beef burritos, which came with sour cream, lettuce, black beans and pico de Gallo sauce, which cost $10.00. I think I'll try the burrito next time I go, because it looked amazing. The atmosphere, and muted red, green and yellow color scheme was so relaxing, I didn't want to go back to work. I was also glad to see that they have banquet rooms, because since I'm always the one that plans the company events, I would like to have one of our gatherings there.
