Add a touch of sass to your photo displays with this zebra print and rhinestone embellished photo frame project! Refurbish an existing wooden photo frame or pick up an unfinished variety at your local craft supply store.

For this project, you will need (per photo frame):

- One wooden photo frame
- Medium grit or fine grit sandpaper sheets
- Tack cloth or other soft cloth type
- Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White
- Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Gloss Black
- Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Finishing Spray
- Zebra print scrapbook paper
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Craft knife
- Self healing mat
- Sponge brush
- Mod Podge or other decoupage medium
- Butter knife
- Rhinestone scrapbook embellishments in any design
- Hot glue gun
- Newspaper or a large drop cloth

Begin your photo frame project by covering your work area with several sheets of newspaper and/or a large sized drop cloth. Remove the glass and backing from the photo frame. Set these items safely aside for later use.

Gently sand the wooden part of the frame with medium grit or fine grit sandpaper. Wipe down the frame with a tack cloth or other type of soft cloth to remove dust and grit.

Lay the frame flat. Prime it using Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White. Let the primer dry completely. Paint the frame using three or more thick coats of Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Gloss Black. Dry overnight.

Place a twelve inch by twelve inch piece of zebra print scrapbook paper flat on a self healing mat. Use a ruler and pencil to create a square or rectangle on the paper that matches the frame. Cut out this design using a craft knife.

Apply a thick coat of Mod Podge or other decoupage medium to the back of the zebra paper with a sponge brush. Immediately adhere the paper to the painted frame. Smooth the paper with a butter knife to prevent wrinkling. Let the glue dry.

Spray the frame using a couple even coats of Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Finishing Spray. Dry fully. Heat up the hot glue gun. Adhere the rhinestone design to the frame where desired with a dot of hot glue. Let the glue cool fully before inserting the glass, adding a favorite photo, and securing the backing on the frame.

TIP: This project can easily be done in other animal print papers, if desired.
