Be sure to have a full bottle of milk that can be used twice. This be an excellent back up in case you are hurt badly during the fight, and it's always a good idea to keep some on hand anyways. Also to replenish lost hearts, break pots around the area in which you'll be fighting.
First up is the guardian of the Forest Temple Twilight Parasite - Diababa. This boss is relatively easy since it is the first boss, but can prove rather challenging if you don't know what you're doing. First off you'll be using the Boomerang as the main weapon to defeat this boss so have it equipped and be prepared for a fight. Two large plants will rise out of the water in front of you, using the targeting of the Boomerang first target the bomb plant on the small island in front of you, then target one of the plants. This will send the bomb into the mouth of the plant and kill them (for now)
Do this to both plants, being careful to dodge their thrusting attacks, which is not hard, just stay as far back as possible. After defeating both plants you'll be ready to fight the true boss of the level, Diababa. Diababa uses the two plants you previously defeated as allies in this fight so watch out. The monkey who you took the boomerang from will be assisting you in this fight.
Be sure to keep your boomerang in hand and target the monkey as he zips across the screen. He's carrying a bomb that will be used to kill the enemy just like in the first part of the fight. Target the monkey then target the plants you killed before.
After taking them both out you'll be able to go after Diababa, using the bomb in the same manner. When Diababa falls in front of you draw you sword and hack em' up until the fight is finished. If Diababa gets back up (and he will once or twice) just repeat this system. The only attack you'll have to watch out for is the thrusting plants again, and Diababa's fire breath. Both are easy to dodge by standing far back and running from left to right or right to left.
This first fight is not too tough, but if Diababa manages to hit you then you'll be hurting. With only three hearts and limited healing supplies you had better keep an eye on how much damage you're taking.
