Zelda Twilight Princess Delayed
Twilight Princess Developers Want to Add More Spunk to This Highly Anticipated Zelda Game
Bad news? Or is this just a delay to improve an already great game? Zelda Twilight Princess is officially put off until sometime in 2006, possibly the second quarter too. Zelda fans all over the world were expecting this game to be released this November just in time for the Holidays, but Nintendo themselves said they want to make this game the best they could. Seriously... Making this game better than Ocarina of Time? I'd have to see it to believe it, but I do believe they are going to pump this game up as much as they possibly could.
Nintendo stated this. "After much discussion, the Zelda development team has requested extra time to add new levels, more depth and even higher quality to Zelda Twilight Princess." While this sounds good in it's own way, I would of liked to see it come out this year because I was really anticipated about it, but anything Nintendo can do to improve this game in any way is good enough for me. Nintendo's Vice President said they want to test out there extra add ons this year, just to test out the way it plays, etc. He told everyone that Twilight Princess would be released sometime in 2006, and that he would give a more specific date as time rolled on. The thing that caught my eye was when Nintendo said, "This might disappoint fans across the would, but the delay will only enrich the game, and make it a multi-million dollar seller." This sounds too good to be true, but anything Nintendo says is usually great, so I can't wait.
One thing Nintendo thought about was this delay would kill Gamecube sales this Holiday season. Zelda Twilight Princess, which was supposed to be released this Holiday season was already being thought on taking on the Xbox 360's launch in November, so this would help Nintendo greatly. Nintendo was quite disappointed in this, but they did say the longer the better, so we have to go along with them. Without Twilight Princess, this leaves Nintendo without a major game release for the Holidays.
Originally the plot of the game was a 17 year old boy named Link travels across a treacherous and vast land and is able to move into an alternate world titled the Twilight Realm, where he can transform into a wolf. While this plot sounded great, Nintendo thought they could spunk it up a bit and add much more in the way of depth and detail. I'm excited already! The game itself that was playable at all gaming conventions won every critics heart, so anything better would just be a masterpiece in the making.
Now... Getting to the big big news. With the delay of Twilight Princess and the launch of the Revolution, Nintendo's next generation gaming console, sources were edging people into believing that the Revolution would have the luxury of hosting Twilight Princess, because after a long delay and a small gaming lineup set for the Holidays this would possibly kill the Gamecube? Well... According to Kaplan, Nintendo's Vice-President, this game is still scheduled for the Nintendo Gamecube. While this can still change, we will keep you all up to date once we know.
Overall this might come as a disappointment to many Nintendo fans, but the delay will only charge up the game even more and make it much more anticipated than it already is. With Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PS3 launching, they think Zelda can take the competition of both of them, so this must be a delay, Nintendo planned to do, just never released it to the public until now. Once we have more information, we will let you all know about it.
