Zelda Twilight Princess: Tips and Tricks for Getting Through the Sky Temple

Chris Tidwell
One of the hardest levels in Zelda Twilight Princess is the Sky Temple, the last stop on your quest in obtaining the last fragmented shard of the Mirror of Twilight. In this level your skills will be put to the test as you solve endless puzzles and riddles making your way through the sky bound fortress is no easy task.

On major trick that will help you in this level is to use the C button a lot to look around at your surroundings. There are places that you would have normally missed with regular camera angles hidden everywhere. If you are ever stuck in a single portion of the level try standing in a centralized location and use the C button to move into first person view. Then look up down left right, everywhere, because chances are there is something that will stand out leading you onward further into the temple.

The Sky Temple involves using the Clawshot quite often so be on the lookout for objects that you can target with the Clawshot. The Ooccoo can be targeted from a distance with the Clawshot and be brought to Link. Also grates covering openings are another surface the Clawshot can grab hold of. Be on the lookout for vines as well as they grow everywhere in the Sky Temple.

These vines will often lead you to other areas of the temple that you would have previously thought unreachable. Also keep in mind that some areas will be off limits until you obtain the secret weapon hidden within the walls of the Sky Temple as well, and this weapon is actually another Clawshot, which will allow Link to fire his second Clawshot while suspended by the chain of the first.

The mini-boss of the Sky Temple is not too hard, however he is one of the harder mini-bosses you'll face in the game. He is a Lizard man, or dragon like with wings, but his weakness is actually his shield. You'll notice the shield looks remarkable like the areas that you use to target with the Clawshot, so do the same for this guy, Z target him then fire the Clawshot.

This will drag him to you and you can unleash an array of sword strikes against him. Next he'll be moving through the openings in the walls trying to get behind you, when he does this just watch your back, re-target and hook him, then slash him. He will only take about three good series of sword maneuvers to kill this guy and obtain the second Clawshot.

Remember that the Sky Temple is the last in the segment of the game so it's going to be tough, confusing, and at some points irritating, but just hang in there and keep your eyes open, always looking for the one clue that will allow you to advance forward in the game.
