Every Day Is Good Day

A Zen Master's question,
Often springs back to him,
When a question as simple as,
How was your day?
Is followed by a deep hush,
Unmon answers instantly,
Every day is a good day.

Joshu's Dog

Does a dog have Buddha nature?
What a stupid question?
Though the crackle is cut by a MU!
The word in itself reveals,
How Joshu pondered.

Gutei's Finger Zen

The poor boy had his finger cut,
For the sake of enlightenment,
Why didn't Gutei cut his own?
To put an end to his finger Zen.

Cut The Cat

For a Zen word,
Nansen cuts the pet cat,
A violent game of words and silence,
What have you made out of Zen.

The Bearded Bodhidharma
.
Wakuan looking for a beardless man,
In the picture of a Bodhidharma,
What a glaring example! Of,
A stinking thinking .
