Spaghetti and Meat Sauce

Save time on dinner and prepare spaghetti and meat sauce the easy way. Boil the noodles as directed on the packaging. Brown one pound of ground beef in a large pot. Add two jars of meat flavored spaghetti sauce to the ground beef. Sprinkle in a tablespoon of Italian seasonings. Simmer the sauce for 10 to 15 minutes. Drain the spaghetti. Serve with hot meat sauce, salad and Italian bread.

Homemade Tomato Soup

Mix one large can of crushed tomatoes with one and one-half quarts of milk. Add seasonings such as fresh basil, oregano, thyme and garlic powder to the soup mixture as desired. Pour the soup into a medium pot and heat on medium temperature until boiling. Lower the temperature to medium low and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes. Serve with grilled cheese sandwiches.

Tuna Noodle Casserole

Prepare a one pound package of egg noodles as directed on the packaging. Drain. Create a roux in the same pot you used to cook the noodles. Place 2 tablespoons butter in the pot to melt. Add 2 tablespoons flour to the melted butter and stir until a soft dough forms. Pour in 2 cups of milk. Heat until boiling, stirring constantly. Remove from the burner and add 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese. Stir to melt the cheese. Pour the drained noodles into a large casserole dish. Add 1 can of drained sweet peas and 1 can of drained white tuna fish. Pour the cheese sauce over the casserole and stir to coat the noodles, veggies and meat. Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 to 30 minutes.

Yankee Pot Roast

Place a three to four pound pot roast into the Crock Pot. Add one cup each, cut up carrots, celery, potatoes and onions to the pot. In a separate dish, mix 2 cups warm water with 1 package dry Italian salad dressing mix. Pour the mixture over the meat and vegetables. Cook on low temperature for 6 to 8 hours. Serve with crusty, homemade bread.
