The Google AdWords Keyword Tool measures how often words or names are searched for on a global basis. By more than double (122%) people search for the name vampire than they do for zombie each month.

Zombie - 32.8 million searches
Vampire - 52.5 million searches
The name vampire turns up 60% more results than the name zombie does in Google.
Zombie - 557,000 results
Vampire - 543,000 results
By a total of just 14,000 the name zombie turns up more results on YouTube than does vampire. Surprising due to vampires being in such TV shows as True Blood and movies like Twilight. But plenty of horror movies over the years have featured zombies.

Zombie - 23,444
Vampire - 39,079
By 67% the term vampire turns up more results than does zombie on Amazon.
Except for on YouTube vampires have a big advantage overall on zombies. Vampire is searched for 122% more often in the world, has 60% more search results on Google and turns up 67% more results on Amazon. Despite zombies having 14,000 more results on YouTube it's clear that today vampires are more popular than zombies.
The overall results of both these beings or creatures reveals just how popular vampires and zombies are in our culture today.
