Zombieland Dvd Release Date

Zombieland DVD release date has yet to be confirmed. Zombieland was released in theaters on October 2, 2009 from Columbia Pictures. It is written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Between the two of them I'm not too familiar with their prior works. It seems they have worked together a lot in the past, writing for various TV series. Rhett Reese most notable work was his additional screenplay contribution to the 2001 animation Monsters Inc. The director of Zombieland is Ruben Fleischer. His most notable credits are his works with the MTV show "Rob & Big" and directing a few episodes of Jimmy Kimmel Live.

We were able to get a sneak preview of zombieland from an interview at 2009 Comic Con the director describes the movie as a horror comedy about a "Zombie Apocalypse" that takes place about two months after an outbreak, and Zombies now rule the land. What the movie lacks in credits from the writers and director is more then made up for by the cast. The movie centers around four main characters played by Woody Harrelson, Jesse Esienberg, Abigail Breslin, and Emma Stone. These four are still human and pitted against a land of zombies.

Woody Harrelson plays a leading role in the movie, as Tallahesse. He has been describe by Harrelson as, "a bit of a loner". He plays a gun slinging bad ass, who helps lead the last of only a few survivors. As they cross across the land fighting off the living dead, he is not afraid to take the zombies head on. Like a battling ram, his philosophy is to just bulldoze right on through. In the movie trailer we hear his character modestly say, "My mother always told me, you'll be good at something. ...I don't think that she could have guessed that, that something, could be zombie killin."

The main character Columbus, is played by Jesse Eisenberg . In Zombieland his character is just the opposite of Tallahesse's character. Columbus is a squeamish kid, who believes the best way to survive another day is to run and hide. He believes he is one of the few non-zombies left because he..."always plays it safe". He meets up with Harrelson's character and the two become an unlikely duo. If you haven't seen Jesse's other notable credit "Roger Dodger" I highly suggest it. In that movie, he plays a young kid Nick trying to learn the ways of his uncle, played by Campbell Scott. Lots of great dialogue and good laughs in that one

Emma Stone mostly notable work was her role as Jules in Judd Apatow's, Superbad. If you don't remember, she was the girl Johan Hill hooked up with , and one of the main motivations of the plot was to get alcohol for her party. In Zombieland, she plays Wichita, older sister to Little Rock. Columbus seems to have his heart set on her, while Tallahesse asks him, "have you ever read that book, she just not that into you". Meanwhile, Wichita's main concern is her little sister. "My sister and I are gonna do whatever it take to survive."

Abigail Breslin, the redhead in the great indie flick "Little Miss Sunshine" plays the character Little Rock in Zombieland. In Zombieland she is the 12 year old little sister, but as Columbus's character explains when they get taken hostage by her, "girl mature way faster then boys". Little Rock and Wichita don't find it too hard to "dupe" the two men into getting what they want from them, but before long all four are teaming up and slaying zombies from coast to coast.

Amber Heard plays the character Maggie in this movie. You may have seen hear on the August 2008 cover of maxim. Some of her movie credits also include a Judd Apatow's movie, Pineapple Express. In that movie she played a high school student, the girl friend of Seth Rogan's character. She also had a small part in Alpha Dog. She will be in my most anticipated movie of 2010 "The Rum Diary", which was an original novel by Hunter S Thompson.

Bill Murray also makes an appearance, playing a Zombie in the movie and it's yet to be known just how big a role he plays. But since he is one of my favorite actors of all time, I'll give any movie with him in it a chance. He has arguably done some of his best work since his "comeback" in Wes Anderson's films such as "The Royal Tenenbaums" and "Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou". If you didn't already know, he is set to star in Ghosbuster 3 in 2012.
