The movie is centered on an apocalypse hitting the world. The apocalypse brings an monstrous infection that is turning people into zombies, once they've been bitten by one who's carrying this infection, which is any zombie. The main character Columbus is your young typical geek who has quite a few issues and phobia problems about pretty much everything in the world ranging from bathrooms, clowns or to pretty much even just leaving his house. Due to his phobias, he's locked himself inside to keep him safe from the outside world and alive for that matter. His obvious new fear is the fear of being bitten by a zombie and becoming one himself. Columbus had to come up with ways to keep him from these murderous creatures by living on a set of rules he created to keep him alive. As his plan unravels, he realizes that he needs to go to his parent's house to make sure they are still alive and have not been turned into zombies. During his trip, he meets up with some other fortunate souls had not been turned into zombies (yet). As they all fear that they are the last standing non zombie humans, the start to rely heavily on each other to survive this battle.
Rotten tomatoes have given this box office hit an 89% which means that most of the reviews have been outstanding. With this film just released into theatres a couple of days ago, the movie is off to a great start.
People have said that his movie is not only is one of the funniest pictures of the year, and that the cinema has be swamped with laughs. Having the great cast filled with Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin, there's no way of going wrong with a comedy filled with zombies. With the ratings that this film is getting, we might even see zombies becoming the new obsession over the beloved vampire crave.
