Zombies + Laughs = Zombieland

Emily Tronetti
After seeing the trailers for Zombieland, of course you would have some expectations. However, don't go into this film thinking that it is simply a comedy, or entirely horror. Although you are dropped right into some gory zombie-filled action as soon as the film begins, the laughs come easily as the main character, Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), begins explaining his list of rules for surviving Zombieland.

Columbus is a young man who is basically a total geek, phobias included. It is his very fear of everything and constant caution that has kept him alive. As the movie continues, Columbus ends up finding three other non-infected humans. Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), Wichita (Emma Stone), Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) and Columbus join together to find a place that isn't overrun with flesh-lusting zombies.

As chemistry begins to build between Wichita and Columbus, the movie may seem a little slow to someone who is just in it to see some zombie killin'. However, in the end, the suspense builds as the girls end up stuck in an amusement park that remains an attraction for hungry zombies. Lots of hungry zombies. Will Columbus follow his rule "Don't Be A Hero" or will he save the only girl he may ever have the chance to fall for? Well, if you don't mind getting some great laughs and watching some zombies munch on intestines, make the trip to the local theater. There isn't a better way to celebrate Halloween than seeing a southern man bash an overweight zombie's head in with a banjo.

Still debating on this movie. Looks funny but I just don't know.
