ZonePerfect All Natural Indulgence Caramel Toffee Nutrition Bar: Product Review

In my never ending attempts at satisfying my sweet tooth while reducing my carbohydrate intake I've been seeking out and turning to beans, nuts, cheeses, and SOY. Soy shakes, soy burgers, soy cheese, tofu, anything I can find that is non-meat, as I'd like to become vegetarian and don't particularly care for much meet anyhow. While picking up a prescription at my local Target I came across a new product by ZonePerfect.

The prescription counter faces a couple of the vitamin and health aisles so as the line at the prescription counter was growing it gave me an opportunity to look over the packages somewhat.

These new bars appealed to me right away with their elegant packaging. The small rectangular boxes had gold metallic lids that lifted upward and could be closed by tucking the lids tab into the slit provided in the trunk part of the box. The boxes had the word 'Indulgence' in an elegant font that just made you feel you were treating yourself. Most of all, each box had a photo of its included variety of the ZonePerfect bars, one stacked over the other, the top bars corner broken away to reveal its particular insides. A thin gold thread encircled the bars and tied on top as if presenting these bars as a valuable present.

Though relatively comparable, with 4 square bars to a 1.58 oz. box for around $5.00 I thought they were a bit pricey. Then, noting the other single protein bars being offered and reasoning how they cost up to $2.00 alone, I decided the price was not too bad and from what I could tell, the product looked much more appealing.

I proceeded to pick up my prescription and continue my shopping. On my way to checkout I passed the health food aisle again and remembered the protein bars. They were available in 3 flavors, all enrobed in what appeared to be milk chocolate. Caramel Toffee, Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse, and German Chocolate Cheesecake! Tough decision!

I finally settled on the Caramel Toffee, hoping it would be too strong in the toffee area.

At work the next day, as I was reaching the 2pm snack time, I remembered the nutrition bars.

I was hit with the aroma of chocolate and toffee as I pulled open the smaller rendition of the elegantly designed packaging in paper replica.

The texture and consistency of the bar was perfect! Not too thick a chocolate coating, very soft, fresh, and moist. Your mouth notes the difference in layers as your teeth hits whipped caramel toffee in a soft and a crunchy layer, both perfectly textured. What a great mixture of soft and moist with hard and crunchy. What I'm assuming was the toffee bits crunched more like rice cereal. This Zone Perfect Indulgence bar was the perfect remedy for taking care of the in between meal hungries.

And did I mention the taste is wonderful? Milk chocolate, fresh and delicious and toffee not overly strong! Yum. Plus with 11 grams of protein, 19 vitamins and minerals as well as 3grams of fiber the Zone Perfect Indulgence bar is beneficial to daily nutritional needs.
