Zsa Zsa Gabor Falls Out of Bed, Surgery Next?

Double Jeopardy Lands Zsa Zsa in Hospital, Prince Frederic Von Anhalt Update

Zsa Zsa Gabor, 93, fell out of bed, broke her hip that may lead to surgery - tonight. A double Jeopardy when Zsa Zsa watched her favorite game show and reached over, not to answer History for 100, but to answer the phone. She fell out of bed according to her husband as reported by CNN. Zsa Zsa was transported to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles last night.

Let's shoot from the hip. At 93, a broken hip is a serious concern. This very well could cause further medical issues for Zsa Zsa on top of her existing conditions which includes, as shared by CNN, being partially paralyzed since 2002 and being a stroke victim survivor since 2005.

University of Maryland School of Medicine researched and released their findings through The Boston Globe offering a view into what occurs in elderly people that suffers from a broken fracture.

29% of the elderly who breaks a hip die within the first year. Approximately 300,000 Americans, over 64-years-old, will suffer from a hip break as their chances of not surviving within the first year are two to five times higher than that of someone who has not broken a hip.

Dr. L. Joseph Melton III , an epidemiologist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, suggested a hip fracture "train wreck" coming down America's track. But don't think you know what's around the bend since the medical industry has been working together to change the direction and hip fraction recovery paths. Commonsense suggests that the future can offer more options for hip fracture recovery.

Little late for my father, but then again, full hip recovery depends upon the situation. My father's previous conditions complicated recovery. He died one year ago following a broken hip. Therefore, I would have to put my two cents in.

First penny - Zsa Zsa's existing condition of being partially paralyzed and a stroke survivor doesn't nail the coffin shut. Depending upon whether or not a replacement or procedure would effect her existing condition, or vice-versa, is questionable and remains to be seen. Her husband is absolutely right, it's complicated. Too complicated for anyone to say, for sure, what comes next.

Second penny - Zsa Zsa is 93, not 90 like earlier reported by some media sources. Most goals, when it comes to age, deems hopeful to at least live to be 100. But, as reality sets in, most individuals do not live to see age 101. And unfortunately, Zsa Zsa is no spring chicken, by far. Who knows, she may surprise many and live to be 125. That also remains to be seen.

Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband, Prince Frederic Von Anhalt, may not be the most liked husband out of Zsa Zsa's multiple marriages. He once claimed to On the Record with Greta, as shown on Fox News, that Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern (now legally Dannielynn Hope Marshall Birkhead) could have been his. Von Anhalt's past, just as Zsa Zsa's, has some good sides and some bad sides - but it's just that, the past.

Although there is one thing I respect about her husband. Von Anhalt proved to do the right thing by calling 911 and assisting Zsa Zsa, as a husband should.

No further information has been released at this time surrounding Zsa Zsa's upcoming surgery. Only that Zsa Zsa may go under the knife tonight.

Zsa Zsa's sisters are well known in the world of celebrity. Eva Gabor portrayed Lisa Douglas in Green Acres and Magda Gabor best known as an entertainer. All three sisters were known for multiple marriages and divorces. Eva had been married five times, Magda married six, and Zsa Zsa, the middle sister, beat out both according to Wikipedia.

We wish you well Zsa Zsa, get well soon!

Things happen. At that age you can easily break something. Sorry to hear she fell out of the bed though.

I used to follow the Gabor sisters and wonder how they were able to marry so many times! I even watched the one sister in Green Acres. Too funny. I hope she recovers. cheers :)
