Zwinky: A New Alternative to Myspace and Facebook

Have you heard of Zwinky.com yet? Well if not you need to check it out! I got tired of Myspace and Facebook and was watching television one night, when this commercial for Zwinky.com came on. Being the computer addict that I am, I ran to the computer to check it out. To my surprise it was a blast, you make a profile and kind of like Myspace you can change your background and play around with it. But that's not even close to what it is really about.

After you make your profile you then make a Zwinky, this is a little person you can build from nothing. Its funny because after you pick your sex male or female, your Zwinky shows up naked with a barrel around it. I got a good laugh from that, then you have a whole wardrobe to dress your Zwinky. From cloths to jewelry, shoes, makeup ect. The only thing is not all the stuff is useable at first, you have to earn money to open all of the wardrobe. In order to do that you must go into zwinktopia yes, you read right zwinktopia.

Zwinktopia is the town which has a mall where you can buy stuff, there is a bowling alley, a coffee shop, you get the point, a little town. In each area are games you play, this is how you earn money to buy stuff and points to open more wardrobe. The games are kind of easy but fun, there is a word game which will make your brain think. They give you letters then you have so much time to make words. In the pizza shop you can play that old game connect four, seeing that game made me feel old. But they use little pizza instead of checker pieces. There is a cool coffee bean game in the coffee shop and a arcade in town with all kinds of different stuff.

But that's not all, you ask how is it a social networking site? Well as you go through town you see other Zwinkys which you can talk to. There is the frat house which is just a chat room. Like the real thing there are clicks the preps, the Goths and so on and so on so you can talk to your group where you feel you fit in! When you find people you like you can save them to your friends so you can chat with them anytime. I enjoyed the new twist something different besides Myspace I hope you check it out and enjoy it too.
